Key takeaways

  • Genspark is no longer the AI search engine with Sparkpages that it launched as. As of August 2026 the product is an all-in-one AI workspace: a Super Agent plus named tools for slides, spreadsheets, documents, code, images, video, audio and meeting notes, running GPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok behind one login, with iOS and Android apps and a macOS browser around it.
  • The audience has widened with the product. Travel guides and product-comparison Sparkpages were the original pitch, and they still work, but the company now sells to knowledge workers, analysts, developers, creators and enterprise teams that want SSO, connectors and no-training commitments.
  • Pricing is a permanent Free plan with 100 credits a day, then Plus at $24.99 a month and Pro at $249.99 a month as of August 31, 2026, with annual billing bringing those to $19.99 and $199.99 a month. Monthly credits reset and don't roll over, and refund windows outside the EU, UK, Turkey and Korea are 24 hours for a monthly purchase and 72 hours for an annual one.
  • Third-party estimates put genspark.ai at roughly 11.5 million visits in June 2026, down from a peak of about 20.7 million in March 2026. A separate estimate for the same period reports closer to 15.3 million, so treat the number as a range. Japan and South Korea together supply more than half of visits.
  • The biggest caveat is service, not output. Trustpilot reporting from March to July 2026 places Genspark around 1.5 out of 5 with roughly 84 percent one-star reviews, concentrated on billing after cancellation, unresponsive support, fast credit depletion and "unlimited" chat that hits session limits. A September 2025 LayerX test also found the Genspark browser blocked only 7 percent of recent phishing sites.

What is Genspark?

Genspark AI Workspace is a web service from MainFunc Inc. of Palo Alto that puts a general-purpose agent and a set of office-style AI tools behind one account. You type an objective and either the Super Agent or a dedicated tool such as AI Slides, AI Sheets, AI Docs, AI Developer, AI Image or AI Video researches, drafts, browses or generates. The models underneath are third-party. Google Play names GPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok as the supported chat models, and paid plans advertise access to all state-of-the-art image, video and audio models. That makes Genspark an aggregator with a workflow layer on top, and a proprietary search index is only one piece of it.

The Sparkpage is still the distinctive part, and it's the format Genspark launched with. A Sparkpage is an AI-generated webpage that consolidates what the web knows about a topic and embeds a copilot, so a reader can ask follow-up questions on the page and have the copilot search and synthesise more without opening a new tab. That suits travel planning and product comparisons, and it's still in the product. But the company's emphasis in 2025 and 2026 has moved to the workspace: Super Agent, AI Drive, Sheets, Slides, Docs, meeting notes, an AI Secretary, a Download Agent and autonomous browsing.

Around the web app sit an iOS app listed for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple Vision, an Android app, and a Genspark Browser for macOS 15 or later that adds ad blocking, autopilot browsing, on-device free AI and an MCP Store with connectors for Discord, GitHub, Notion, Slack and hundreds of other tools. Team and Enterprise plans add separate workspaces, admin billing and seat controls, SSO and an automatic opt-out from model training.

How it works

  1. Sign in and pick a plan

Create an account on the web, in the iOS or Android app, or by installing the macOS browser. The Free plan gives basic access and 100 credits a day. Plus and Pro add larger monthly credit allocations, all models and the full workspace.

  2. Choose the agent or a tool

Start in AI Chat or the Super Agent for open-ended research and multi-step tasks, or go straight to a named tool: AI Slides for a deck, AI Sheets for a table, AI Docs for a document, AI Developer for a website, app or game, AI Image or AI Video for media, or AI Meeting Notes for a transcript.

  3. Describe the objective and connect data

Write what you want in plain language. Where the task needs outside data, connect tools through MCP. AI Sheets supports Google Drive, Supabase and custom MCP connections, and the browser's MCP Store covers Discord, GitHub, Notion, Slack and more. The agent then researches, drafts, browses or generates, spending credits according to the tool, model and task.

  4. Review, refine and share

Edit the result in the relevant workspace, keep the conversation going, then share or export it. On a Sparkpage, readers can ask the embedded copilot follow-up questions and get an answer synthesised from further web searches without leaving the page.

Features

Super Agent

The central agent of the workspace. Give it a research question or a multi-step job and it runs the steps itself: searching, reading, drafting and producing output in the relevant format. Eric Jing, the CEO, says Super Agent's launch took the company to $10 million in annual recurring revenue in nine days and $36 million in 45 days. Those are the company's own figures.

Sparkpages

An AI-generated webpage that pulls together web knowledge on a topic and includes a built-in copilot. Ask a question about the page and, if the answer isn't already there, the copilot searches and synthesises additional information in place. This is the format Genspark is best known for and the one that suits travel itineraries and product comparisons.

AI Slides, AI Sheets and AI Docs

Three office-style tools that produce drafts from a prompt or template. AI Slides builds a presentation and adds researched supporting content. AI Sheets collects information into structured tables and connects to Google Drive, Supabase and compatible custom tools through MCP. AI Docs drafts documents and planning material.

AI Developer

Produces website, app and game drafts from a description and supports GitHub workflows for code editing and pull requests. Think of it as a prototyping tool inside the workspace, not a standalone development environment.

AI Image, Video and Audio

Media generation through the models Genspark supports. Plus and Pro include unlimited image creation at zero credit cost and access to all state-of-the-art media models, with that guarantee stated only through December 31, 2026.

AI Meeting Notes

Transcribes meetings and turns them into shareable notes. The Google Play page lists it as of August 2026.

Genspark Browser and MCP Store

A macOS browser for macOS 15 or later with ad blocking, autopilot browsing and on-device free AI, plus an MCP Store of connectors for Discord, GitHub, Notion, Slack and hundreds of other tools. A September 2025 LayerX test found it blocked only 7 of 100 recent phishing pages, which matters if you plan to let autopilot into sensitive accounts.

What people use it for

  • Turning a short brief into a researched presentation in AI Slides
  • Collecting web or connected-source data into a spreadsheet through AI Sheets and MCP
  • Drafting a document, a plan or a meeting summary
  • Researching products and comparing reviews while browsing
  • Planning travel or exploring a destination through Sparkpage Q&A
  • Generating images, video and audio for creative work
  • Prototyping a website, app or game and pushing changes through GitHub
  • Running multi-step research tasks through the Super Agent

Don't treat Genspark as a substitute for high-assurance factual, financial, medical or security research without independent verification. And the browser's phishing-blocking results argue against using autopilot on sensitive accounts.

Genspark meters everything beyond core chat in credits. What a task costs depends on the tool, the model and the job, and there is no published per-generation rate card. Free accounts get 100 credits a day, replenished automatically on a rolling one-month window. Plus includes 10,000 credits a month and Pro 125,000, and paid credits reset at the start of each billing cycle without rolling over. You buy top-up credits separately; they last three months and carry across cycles. Plus and Pro advertise unlimited core AI Chat and unlimited AI Image at zero credit cost. But that benefit is guaranteed only through December 31, 2026, the Help Center refers to service limits, and reviewers in 2026 allege session limits on "unlimited" chat and failed tasks that burned far more credits than expected, including one report of a 9,000-credit deduction on work expected to cost 1,000. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the period ends. After that the account reverts to Free and the cancelled period's credits aren't refunded. Refunds are limited to 14 days in the EU, UK and Turkey, seven days in Korea, and elsewhere 24 hours after a monthly purchase or 72 hours after an annual one, subject to rejection for excessive use, with no second refund allowed. App Store and Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled in the store, not on the site. No price change or tier rename was found in the twelve months before August 2026.

Traffic & reach

Third-party estimates from our last check, a proxy for adoption rather than an official number. genspark.ai climbed from roughly 10.8 million visits in November 2025 to about 20.7 million in March 2026, then fell to around 11.5 million by June 2026, a drop of about 25 percent month on month. A separate estimate for the same window puts the June figure nearer 15.3 million, so treat the level as a range and the decline as the more reliable signal. The shape is unusual for a US company. Japan supplies about a third of visits and South Korea more than a fifth, with the United States under a tenth. Around 73 percent of traffic arrives direct, which is what a bookmarked daily tool looks like rather than one people find through search, and visits average close to ten minutes.

What to know before you commit

  • What people rate it for. Breadth is what gets praised most consistently. One account covers research, chat, presentations, spreadsheets, documents, coding, media generation, meeting notes, browser automation and agents, and the Google Play listing confirms that range as of August 2026. Sparkpages get credit for consolidating research and allowing context-aware follow-up instead of tab-hopping, and some Trustpilot reviewers describe the software as powerful, smooth and more accurate than competing AI tools on certain tasks.

  • The billing complaints are a pattern. An independent July 2026 roundup places Genspark around 1.5 out of 5 on Trustpilot across about 112 reviews, with roughly 84 percent one-star. The Trustpilot page describes billing accuracy problems, subscriptions that are hard to stop, unresponsive support, fast credit depletion and disappointment with image generation and custom formatting. Specific allegations include continued charge attempts more than a month after cancellation and account deletion, unexplained suspensions, and "unlimited" chat becoming subject to aggressive session limits. These are user reports, not adjudicated findings, but they recur. Recheck the live Trustpilot count before relying on the exact figure.

  • The browser failed a phishing test. In September 2025 the security firm LayerX tested 100 recent phishing sites and reported that the Genspark AI browser blocked only 7 of them, letting 93 percent through, against 47 percent blocked by Chrome and 54 percent by Edge in the same test. LayerX attributed the gap partly to the absence of Google Safe Browsing protections. No Genspark response was found. The test is dated and doesn't prove that every current browser version behaves the same way. Still, re-test before trusting autopilot or extensions with sensitive logins.

  • Data use depends on your plan. Genspark says Team and Enterprise accounts are automatically opted out of model training, that prompts and customer content are not used to train its models, that data is encrypted, and that it holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001:2022 certification. Admins can see seat-level usage but not project content. Team data is deleted 30 days after termination with 90-day backup retention. The public evidence doesn't establish that the same automatic opt-out applies to Free, Plus and Pro accounts, so check the Trust Center and current data processing agreement before uploading anything sensitive.

  • The growth and funding numbers need care. The revenue figures are the company's own: $10 million in annual recurring revenue nine days after Super Agent launched and $36 million after 45 days, associated with 2025 and not independently audited. The funding record is also unreconciled. Genspark's English announcement describes a $275 million Series B at a $1.25 billion post-money valuation, while a July 2026 Japanese company profile reports $485 million and a $2.6 billion valuation. No breach, lawsuit, regulatory action or shutdown was found.

  • "Unlimited" has an expiry date. The unlimited chat, unlimited image generation and commercial-use benefits on Plus and Pro are guaranteed in writing only through December 31, 2026. Whatever the plan looks like now, recheck the terms after that date before buying an annual subscription.

Eric Jing, Kay Zhu
Leadership
Eric Jing is co-founder and CEO and Kay Zhu is co-founder and CTO of MainFunc Inc., the Palo Alto company behind Genspark. Jing says he joined Microsoft in 2006, was on the founding team that shipped Bing, built AI voice devices that sold more than 40 million units, and helped build a $5.5 billion company. Zhu's prior employment isn't covered in the sources reviewed.
Funding
Genspark announced a $100 million Series A, with the lead and full syndicate not confirmed, and by August 2026 a $275 million Series B at a $1.25 billion post-money valuation backed by Emergence Capital, SBI Investment, LG Technology Ventures, Pavilion Capital, UpHonest Capital and existing investors. A July 2026 Japanese company profile instead reports a $485 million Series B and a $2.6 billion valuation, so the total raised is unreconciled. No acquisition or public listing was found.
Scale
A third-party company record lists 48 employees, undated and not independently confirmed. Jing has claimed $10 million in annual recurring revenue nine days after Super Agent launched and $36 million after 45 days; both are self-reported and associated with 2025. A Japanese subsidiary, Genspark株式会社, was established in Tokyo in January 2026.
